Greetings Dear Ones!

Here at Spirit of Joy, we would like to reach out and welcome all of you in Christ's love. Here in the music ministry we want to focus on worship by being "Worship Leaders,' not worship performers. What God wants more than anything else is genuine contact with us! Jesus will go wherever He is invited. Acts 8:35 commands us to, "open our mouths and share Christ." We can do this with music and song.

The Bible tells us that, "If we have breath at all... we are to be praising God with it!" The second commandment tells us to "Love your neighbors as you love yourselves." In essence, to reach out to our neighbors. Our God is a God of relationships and music is another way for us to relate to each other in worship of Him. It helps to unify the "body of Christ."

In our music ministry we like to use music as a tool - not as something to gratify us. It is meant to lift people up as close to heaven as possible. Music is a language for us to employ in lifting up the Lord! It is good for us to worship (sing, pray, listen to or play music as an offering). Worship softens our hearts. The way to a person's head, after all, is through their heart. Worship through music helps us to FOCUS! It reminds us that this is about God... not us! Worship prepares us to hear what God wants to tell us.

Welcome!

Welcome to Spirit of Joy's Music Ministry blog, Making a Joyful Noise!

"O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation!

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods."
(Psalm 95:1-3 AMP)
